Repairs

Nothing affects the use and value of your instruments as much as keeping it in proper repair. Improperly done, repairs can negatively affect the sound, playability and value of your instrument. Correct repair techniques aren't learned in a two week course at Summer camp, they're learned over time under the supervision and direction of violinmakers, carrying on traditions of repair and restoration which have stood the test of time. At North Fulton Violins your repairs will be done by an active professional maker, not by a hobbiest or amatuer. With our 35 years of experience we provide the knowledge, training and care to make sure your instrument or bow is returned to you performing at it's best musically while preserving it's value.

We are available for repairs on all bowed string instruments, including basses. Regardless of your instrument or level of experience, we strive to provide complete and professional repairs. It's the careful attention to every detail in the setup and repair of string instruments that enables musicians to play their best and enjoy their instruments the most.

You are welcome to watch your instrument being worked on in our Alpharetta location. Most routine repairs and maintenances can be done while you wait or within one business day. More involved repairs can be done in a reasonable amount of time.

As with instrument repairs, you are welcome to watch your bow being rehaired. Other routine repairs such as grips, windings, and recambering are also available while you wait. More involved repairs such as ivory tips, and stick and frog repairs, usually require longer. We use only fine double key hair, and take the care to make sure that each rehair is to the highest standards possible.
