Martin Family, Germany ca. 1880

We see a lot of Martin Family instrument, distinguished by the purfling set close to the edge with the narrow corners. Many have Amati style outlines (well, the German version of an Amati outline anyway), and this is no exception. This violin has soem slight cosmetic damage due to teh chippy varnish, but the violin itself is in excellent condition with a strong sound. It was formerly the second instrument of a local teacher.
